I just got my Nexgen 8002s tonite, (Thanks Crawbag) and holy crap they are heavy! i weigh the chips, and each 100 chip on a rack weighs about 3 lbs. so 1000 Chips + 10 racks + birdcage = just a bit under 40 lbs. the birdxcage is about 6 lbs...
This is going to be fun luggin from house to house. but I am very happy with it. Now, i just got to wait for John(5string) to finish my design, and Jason(hogwild) to print them, and I'll be set! 
Btw, how sturdy is the birdcage? i would imagine 40lbs is alot of pressure for one single handle held together by 2 little screws...  |

Seriously though, I've never carried 1k nexgens in a 'cage but they are more than sturdy enough for ceramics.

Ceramics are 10g and Nexgens are 12g ... I don't want to do the math conversion, but obviously the Nexgens are a couple of pounds heavier ... your birdcage should handle it ...
On a side note, I can't wait for chips to come in 20g+ each, or more! ... that'll be awesome!  |

Only thing Ive had to do was wipe down the birdcage with some acrylic polish every once in awhile..keeps her so fresh and so clean!

I'm considering moving my Paulsons from a 1000 chip carrier to two 600 carriers. I figure the two lighter ones will be easier to carry, plus I won't always need 1000 so often one of them will do.
(This has absolutely nothing to do with getting to buy another 200 chips to fill out the second carrier. No, nothing at all. Nothing to see here, move along.) |

Funny that you mention that... after all my bitching and whining about wanting a birdcage... i now want those gun case to hold my poker chips in.. it looks cooler.. LOL |

No kidding! Just got back from the Post Office after spending the entire morning packing chips and get this....
I just shipped 350 9 gram Palmas chips to Germany, and the fricking cost was $51.50  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No one is ever going to complain to me again about how much I charge for shipping on ebay after this fiasco. And to think some people on ebay wrote to me saying that shipping to overseas does not cost more than 10 bucks. HAH!  |
