Chips: 236 | | | Denoms? I am thinking or ordering a 500set of Nevada Jacks, because I have spents many months trying to find "my" perfect chip and always keep the Nevada jacks in the back of my mind. I host a tourny every week with about 10-15 players. My questions is I will be ordering 5 denom's $25,$50,$100,$500 and $1000. I need to know how many of each denom to order. We do a buyin of $25 with no rebuys. Please help me!!!! If need be I have throw in a few $5000 (new nevada jacks chips) to color up toward the end of the tourny.

1. What blinds schedule are you using and what starting stacks? Hard to tell you how many chips to buy if we don't know how you are using them
2. NJ doesn't make $50 chips and even if they did, you probably don't need it in a tourney; just use 2 x $25. Things are easier this way.
3. For 10-15 players, 4 denoms is probably enough a 5th would mostly be useful for rebuys/addons which means at max 20 chips. See #1 above.
4. A 500 chip set might be tight for 15 players, see #1 above.
The CaptLego's calculator is a good start as is this

Chips: 41 | | | Re: Denoms? Your game sounds alot like mine. Here is what we use:
20 - 25's ($500)
20 - 100's ($2,000)
1 - 500 ($500)
2 - 1000's ($1000)
Blind Schedule (10 mins)
25-50
50-100
100-200
150-300
200-400 - 50 ante
400-800 - 50 ante (color up all $25)
500-1000 - 100 ante
600-1200 - 100 ante
1000-2000 -100 ante
1500-3000 - 200 ante
2000-4000 - 200 ante
This game lasts around 2hrs for 10-15 people. You will need the following total chips:
300 - 25's
300 - 100's
50 - 500's
50 - 1000's
-----------------
700 - total chips
Hope this helps! |

Chips: 18,645 | | | Re: Denoms? Well, 15 people is pretty easy for a nice tourney using 500 chips. But don't waste precious chips by buying too many of the lowest denoms. And you don't need that 5th denom, unless you just want to get some $5,000 chips for flash (and I can certainly understand that!).
Here's what we do most every week:
8 x $25
13 x $100
3 x $500
2 x $1000
==> Total 26 chips for a $5,000 starting stack, and a nice pile to play with (390 of your chips to start 15 players).
Using fewer $25 chips keeps your quantities down and keeps those chips for basically blinds and limps. Your $100s do most of the heavy lifting, and you get 4 times the dollar amount for each one you buy.
For 15 people you could comfortably buy these quantities, and even have a few left over:
120 x $25
225 x $100
90 x $500
55 x $1000
and what the heck, add 10 x $5,000 just for fun (or skip 'em and buy more $500s and $1000s)
==> Total 500 chips to buy.
Blinds start at 25/50, so your starting stack is just right at 100 x BB. Change the time between levels to regulate how long you want the game to last. We use these blinds:
$25/$50
$50/$100
$100/$200 (sometimes we add $150/$300 , but usually skip it)
$200/$400 (color up the $25s)
$300/$600
$400/$800
$500/$1,000 (color up the $100s, if you want)
$1,000/$2,000
$1,500/$3,000
$2,000/$4,000
$3,000/$6,000
$5,000/$10,000 |

You can play a T2000 tournament with starting chipstacks of:
16 x $25
16 X $100
This would total 480 chips.
You use the remaining 20 to get $500 chips. 12 of these will be enough to color up all the greens (buy some $100's with them from the big stacks, then use the $100's to color up the $25)
The advantage to this is that you could cut the chipstacks in half and hold a T1000 tournament for 30 people with this set as well. This gives you a lot of flexibility if your game grows.
Use the WSOP structure for the $2500 buy in or below hold'em tournaments. |

Chips: 178 | | | Re: Denoms? Just remember not to order them instead click on the banner on the top of the main page. If you put $100 into a party poker account and then fold every hand (play 25cent NL because it rakes the easiest) you will end up about $6 ahead (after the $25 bonus for putting in $100) and you get a 300 set of jacks for free. Or if you pay $100 in the end you can upgrade to a 500 set and pick the denominations.
edit: I should also point out if your looking for a great quality chip the jacks ok but not spectacular. I got them from the promo just to have a travel set, and they cant hold a candle against my egyptians. |

Chips: 500 | | | Re: Denoms? The breakdown I just got for my new 500 piece tourny/cash set is as follows:
150 - $25 (green)
200 - $100 (black)
100 - $500 (purple)
50 - $1000 (orange)
This is perfect for T5000 tournies for up to 18 players although the stacks are quite thin at the limit.
T5000 (8 or less)
16 T25
16 T100
6 T500
T5000 (9 to 12)
12 T25
12 T100
7 T500
T5000 (13 to 18 )
8 T25
8 T100
4 T500
2 T1000
The top two allow for enough chips to do multiple rebuys and addons while the bottom config has enough extra chips to just cover the colour ups of both the 25's and 100's.
