Cost of Presidents are going up... check inside.

Well many owners of the chips have jumped onto the ebay sellers market to see what they are getting and wow.

Current prices via EBAY/WHAT I SADLY PAID

primary 500's are from 3.50-6$ each
seconraries 500 are now going up cause they are gone 3-4$ each

I bet if someone listed a rack of 20$ it would sell for 200$-250$

the primary 1000's are selling all over ebay are worth a bit more than the secondaries. They are selling for as low as i paid 25$ up to 40$.

the 2.50's are next to go out.

Chad

Just remember that collectables tend to be cyclical in value.
My favorite reference is still 'remember beanie babies'

Poker Chips vs Beanie Babies

Interesting. Here we go.

I want to know the last time anyone could tell me the when people wanted to get together with friends or family and busted out a bunch of beanie babies had had some fun for an entire evening. I think that chips are gaining momentum because they are not just for collecting. They do have a practical purpose.

Poker has always had a mystique to it. Look at the opening of tombstone, which was made almost a decade before the poker boom, the first thing you see is Curly Bill Brocious boots with 4 aces on the front of each of his boots.

“Yawl killed a couple of cowboys”

Beanie babies do not quite have a mystique to them and they serve no practical purpose.

I don't see a huge buying spree on Ebay, the chip totals are very low, just a few dozen.

There's a few people panicking and paying a lot for $500s, but that's cause there's like less than 30 chips on sale at the moment.

If I do a completed listing search on Ebay, i see 100 chip racks of New Yorkers ($1s, $2.50s, $25s, $100s) going from $1.15 to $1.50 per chip, just a couple days ago.

We always play with the beanie babies before we start our poker game!

Re: Cost of Presidents are going up... check inside.

Are people actually paying $3-6 per chip? That's just sad, even for a chipoholic. At max, $2/chip and even that is stretching it

I have heard about this, but I did not believe it. I just thought it was only on party poker commercials that people dealt to their dogs, and stuffed animals. Maybe I was wrong.

They stole the blow-up doll idea from Yeltzen - didn't even pay him any royalties. Bastards.

I KEEP IT REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Cost of Presidents are going up... check inside.

I'm seriously in a bidding war with someone on ebay for 5 x $500 PNY's. Last time I checked the highest bid was $20.50. I have this gut feeling that another member of Chiptalk is outbidding me. DAMN CHIP ADDICTS!!!
