Dirtiest Chips You've ever seen

I was playing at the Taj in AC Yesterday (Poker Room and game tables) and I don't think chips can get much more discusting. The white and reds (which obviously get the most use) were literally caked with gunk to the point where you couldn't make out the edge design. I took my thumbnail and scraped one chip and ended up with a big black chip booger on the end of my finger . The higher demons weren't nealrly as bad but couls stand a cleaning none the less.

At one point I went to place a bet and tried to pick up one chip by the edge and three more were stuck to it and just hung on even when I shook the stack a bit. I had to pry them apart. I'm not obsessive (well maybe a little ) but I fealt like I needed a shower after I was done playing. I deffinatly didn't order food to eat while playing.

I also played at Showboat yesterday and have played at most all the other casinos in AC and many in Vegas but have never seen such dirty chips.

I know they make chip cleaning machines. I think the Donald ought to invest in one .

Anyone else experience this anywhere?

Ranman

Played in Auga Caliente, a casino in Palm Springs. They had Chipcos that were absolutely filthy.

Casino tournament chips aside (which are almost always total crap) the worst I've ever seen was also the Taj in AC. They were gross to the point where I noticed how gross they were, before I became a chip snob.

This is why you wash your hands BEFORE you handle your junk in the bathroom.

After is optional, I guess.

Re: Dirtiest Chips You've ever seen

Its funny that a guy that talks about how he is the best at everything from making water to tying his shoe, looses money on a casino. I do not know if they could afford to buy a chip cleaning machine.

I saw an episode of the apprentice where I paused the Tivo to take a closer look at the chips. The chips were so worn and rounded that it looked like you could fit 22 in a rack instead of 20. It was almost like they were having a contest with another casino to see who could get to putting 23 in a rack first. The chips looked like you could snap them between your fingers. Did anyone else see this episode.

Re: Dirtiest Chips You've ever seen

My local casino prides itself on being a "high class joint" and uses Paulsons as the "crappy $1 chip" and uses primo Borgoune et Grasset bud jones style chips for everything else. Whenever I go the chips are slightly grimy which is to be expected, but I've never really seen a chip so filthy and disgusting that I dont want to touch it etc. www.casinoregina.com if you are curious. http://www.lcssinc.com/bigmike/Sask.html

Ranman,
The Taj has the dirtiest chips by far. When I am at the tables there I see how many chips I can stack horizontally and pick up by the end. I have had it up to 12 (ewww)

My epiphany came when I went to the bathroom, washed my hands, and came back to the table. I started to laugh to myself. My friend next to me asked me what was so funny. I told him "I can't believe I washed my hands to play with these chips. It should be the other way around"

Ken
