Chips: 7 | | Poker chips used on T.V This topic may annoy some of you chiptalk regulars, i occasionally read this site, but i never activated an account until now.
I'd like to know what kind of chips are used on the poker tourneys that are televised. Ultimate Poker Challenge and Party Poker mostly.
I believe the UPC use a paulson chip, and it appears that the party poker use a chip similar to a Chipco chip, But i'm looking to be proved wrong so if any of you guys know which chips are used in these tourneys, or any tourney thats televised it'd be appreciated. Thanks!

-TWS | Why do you want to be proved wrong? This past week I've seen a Paulson TH & C up close, and the worst offended of all last night with those metal slug pieces of junk at the Mirage. Another show had chips that definitely looked like Chipco but unless these TV producers start telling us about the chips specifically, we may not know except by out own eagle eyes. |

Whoops, I think I'm thinking of a different show not UPC. UPC is the one on UNIHD right? Cause that's not what I was thinking of. |

celb poker. Most of the people on the show are complete poker boneheads but Phil Gordon always gives some good tips on what they should or shouldn't do.

Chips: 1,260 | | | Re: Poker chips used on T.V Most televised tournaments are provided chips by the hosting casino (if the event in question is actually in a casino) ... I still wonder what was going on with the Mirage on the WPT ... the vast majority of chips you'll see on TV (in the US) are either Paulson or Chipco, and at times Bud Jones (if you think it's a clay chip it's a Paulson; a Chipco is very easy to differentiate on TV, you'll know whether it is or isn't) ... Paulson and Chipco chips are the most widely used chips in N. American casinos ... a Paulson clay chip is still the most used chip, a big part of that is also because GPI is literally a one stop shopping place for everything a casino needs, but Chipco ceramics aren't that far behind in terms of usage.
Additionally, if you want to see what type of chip is being used on TV ... it's as easy as knowing where they're playing (casino) and looking it up ... you can usually find pictures. I'd assume though, that most people here already can tell what type of chips are being used on TV just by seeing them on the table ... no? |
