New Yorkers or Samurais

So, I'm struggling with a real dilemma here and I'm hoping you guys can help. Should I buy a tournament set of the New Yorkers (approx. 600 chips) or should I buy a tournament set of the Samurais? I did not get in on the group buy for the Samurais so I would be paying retail for them. Would appreciate your thoughts on this.

I didn’t and won’t vote on this for obvious reasons but I think it’s safe to say that you are comparing apples to oranges here. The design of these is SO different that I am surprised to even see you are going back and forth. That being said, I suspect for the money most people will say go with the New Yorkers if for no other reason than they are actual casino chips. IMO because of the dramatically different designs the choice can be made based solely on which one you like better as far as looks. Obviously for me I prefer the Samurai's...

Don't let people buy your chips for you ! You are the one who will be playing with them after all.

You make a good point about the designs being very different and I realize that. I have been and am leaning towards the Samurais. I think I will shed any last bit of indecision about which ones to get when I finally see pictures of the Samurais.

NewYorkers over priced and really don't look all that good, get the samurais instead!

You may not have time, the NY's are almost gone. He has already ran out of the $500 primary chips so if you want NY's you might want to act now. Also, obviosuly I have never handled a Samurai but the blue chip sets that I have had in the past DONT EVEN COMPARE to casino grade PAULSON.

Re: New Yorkers or Samurais

All I can say is I'd certainly go with the samurai. Part of that is because I studied Japanese in college and my girlfriend is Japanese!

Looks like Im not getting a set of New Yorkers anymore. I guess I waited too long. The primary $500 was my favorite chip. I was only going to buy the $100 and $500, but if hes out I guess I'll wait to see if someone sells some in the future.
