Hi All, I recently orders some samples of Pharoahs, Mardis and ASMs. I've narrowed my choices down the these 3. Right away the Pharoahs stood out. The just feel like they have more bulk, the colors are excellent and the design in very classy... BUT I just HATE the slick inlay. It completely spoils the chip for me. I like a lot of texture in my chips and when I play around with the Ps...ugh, that slick spot just drives me mad.
The Mardis are excellent in their feel and looks...BUT...I'm just not into the Mardi Gras theme enough to want to drop 500 on a set.
SO it looks like I'm going the custom ASM route. The difference in weight is noticable between these 3, with the ASMs easily the lightest, but the texture is good and the idea of a custom inlay makes me all a-tingle. I just wish I could have gotten some samples of the different molds. As it was I could only get circle-square, and they happened to drop a purple A mold in as well (which I must say had much more texture than the circle-square). I'm pretty sure I'll be going with the Roman mold. I'm going with a bird theme on my inlay and the basket perimeter sort of reminds me of a nest.
