Chips: 438 | | | Paulson NCV VS Custom ASM/Bluechip/etc Hey guys, i'm going through a huge dilema.... I think some ASMS and some Bluechips and all the custom companies can look decent, but none of them really catch my eye like any paulson series do...
Basically I have three options here,
I can either go with the Paulson Pharaoh's NCV chips, the reason I'm not so sure about this is it gets so annoying with people reasking what is worth what, and when u play with people u havent before they ask even more then the idiots you play with in the first place.
I can get some Custom ASM / Bluechip / TR King (might be too expensive),
This way I can get custom denominations and my initials or whatever although i dont care about that too much but it would be nice.
Here's something I'm not sure if people have done, but I want to mix some Paulson Pharaoh with James bond, with Older james bond, this way I can get 25c 50c and 1 dollar chips which u cant with any of the sets alone.
I don't know how many of you think that those chips can go together very well and im going ot be ordering samples of them all and see how they look stacked next to eachother, although i think it might work just fine.
Let me know you're thoughts on what you would do, but remember, if you love the way ASM or Bluechip chips look then this is a different story, if it was that way I would just order them asap, but I like the look of paulsons atleast 2-3x better then any custom ASM or Bluechip |

If you think you're going to label your chips anyway, you'd probably be better off finding a blank chip that will accept a label (it'll probably cost you less as well.)
Sometimes a bit of "information overload" can get one's head spinning and confused. |

Chips: 1,375 | | | Re: Paulson NCV VS Custom ASM/Bluechip/etc I agree that the "How much is a blue?" gets under your skin. So th NCV set would be my last choice.
Do you want a set of chips? A set to me is chips that all match (Pharoahs, JBs, Trademarks, etc). If you want a set, then that rules out the mixed JB/OJB/Pharoah. If I'm going to drop a sizable chunk of change on chips, it's going to be a set. So this would be my next to last choice.
That leaves you with the Custom ASM. If it's the Paulson inlays you like, just make something similar. Plenty of guys right here talented enough to whip up some inlays. Make up a casino name and get a look-a-like font and voila! You can pick the colors similar to the Paulson sets (and improve upon them). |

Chips: 6,106 | | | Re: Paulson NCV VS Custom ASM/Bluechip/etc I think you'll find that you really don't need a 50 cent chip -- 2 25 cent chips work fine, actually better. You could always get a denom set of Pharoahs and also get a NCV chip to use as the 50 cent if you really think you need it. |

It's actually the Paulson look that I want, thats why im considering putting labels over the Inlay of the Paulsons if possible which it seems arent.
Also when u talk about mixed set, these are just mixing different generation of paulsons, i think they might even look like a set besides the inlays will b e different |

I know what you mean, basically im trying to figure out what i want most, which i cant really figure out, im going to get some samples of some custom ASMS and stuff like that and see, but as of now from what i've seen almost all of the custom chips on this site i don't like all too much, after falling in love with 4x2 edge spots it doesnt seem like anything else cuts it... |

Chips: 158 | | Re: Paulson NCV VS Custom ASM/Bluechip/etc if yuo can afford it, id go custom (ASM) all the way. First off, they'll be custom, with denoms ( for them pesky non poker playing types) or custom labels with your own moniker. Second, the ASM's have about 15 different colors from which to chose from....ultimately enough veratility to clearly mimic a Paulson chip. Now the real question is....when people ask you what kind of chips you have do you want to be able to say..."paulson" or "custom" either way people in the know will be impressed. after that, its all a personal preference. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
