Chips: 62 | | | Re: Plaque Denomination Poll I voted "not interested" mainly because I've never seen them used. Can someone explain the reason and/or history behind using plaques for particular denominations rather chips? Is this more popular in Europe than in the US? |

Chips: 1,548 | | | Re: Plaque Denomination Poll Spuds if your getting 5K chips you should get 25K plaques, you know that 4-5 to 1 ratio thing!!! If you get 10K plaques that would only be 2 of those 5K chips!
Just something to think about.... |

Chips: 1,548 | | | Re: Plaque Denomination Poll Well Spuds chips should, and I empasize should here, because really you can anything you want with your chips because they are yours and you need to be happy playing with them! Back to my point here, chip denominations should be increase in increments where the next larger chip is 4-5 times larger than the previous one, ex. 5, 25, 100, instead of 25, 50, 100.
The reason for this is that a chip that is only 2 times larger than the previous makes the use of that chip somewhat pointless, because a bet made with the 1 larger chip is the same as using 2 smaller chips. Also the larger chip cannnot be feasibly used to color up the smaller denomination.
I hope that I am getting my point across here, not that is any big deal, really, but economically it makes more sense to go with the 4-5 to 1 ratio. Fewer larger denoms can color up a majority of your smaller denoms.
Hope this explanation helped. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
