Fake Rounders?

I was just browsin through ebay like I always do and stumbled upon these. The add claims they are ASM. To me they look like those plastic chips that has "CASINO" goin around the sides of them. Maybe Im wrong but the dude is sellin em for 500 bucks. They obviously arent the TR Kings and Im just wondering if someone can tell me if these are indeed ASMs

Re: Fake Rounders?

These appear to be ASM Roman mold. A member had a set of these done - these might be them.

/michael

[EDIT] djriley had a set of Roman molds made.

Re: Fake Rounders?

They look like ASMs with the Roman Mold to me. I know there was a set made by a member of another forum with the KGB inlay. ASM has said they will no longer make that inlay for the public.

Re: Fake Rounders?

ASM made the original chips that were used in the Movie Rounders. Odd that they should re-use someone else's inlay on a consumer order, not to mention any potential infringement issues that might arise.

Re: Fake Rounders?

Thanks that does explain why ASM can use that inlay somewhat freely.

Insofar as pictures you find on the net, they're usually JPEGs and while they may look fine on a screen they don't always print out very well when you send them to a 600dpi printer. I think the clip art that Jim referenced in his post was from some vector based clip art. I think we have that same package here, though everytime I want something, one of the artists has to e-mail the .eps to me since the package we have is in Mac format.

Re: Fake Rounders?

This design was a clip art not a custom design. It was not created by Mirimax or ASM. This info is straight from ASM.

Re: Fake Rounders?

Looks like that guy is trying to pass off some Nexgens as the real deal.

Just kidding... Those are actually my chips. I bought these from another member here a few month back. I really like the chips but have decided to order a custom set from ASM. I'm really not sure if ASM will make this exact chip for anyone. I think if I wanted to get more I would have to get them from the person who did the original order.
