I wish they would focus on the chips a little bit during broadcasts of tournaments on TV. Every time I’m watching Poker on TV I’m always hoping for a close up of the chips so I can see what they are playing with. It should be part of the broadcast, introduce the players and then show close ups of the chips. Stupid, I know...... Carry on.
I agree and I think it'd be a great idea not just for addic..chiptalkers. I mean all the time I'm trying to figure out the denominations to figure out what people are betting. Half the time it takes me a while to figure out the denoms and it's annoying.
What's funny with most of the shows is that they go over the rules of poker... and go over them and over them and over them. And then they make sure that week after week we get the 'lingo' explained to us. Yes, we know what "top pair" means already.... thank you.
But you're right on the money, and I've also often wondered.... why not just spend 60 seconds showing us one decent close-up of the chips they're using and what the values are for this game.

Wondered that myself. I saw one on TV that when they brought out the cash and trophy to the table, they also had a commerorative chip set. They said no more, not even a close up shot. All you could see was some chips in a wood box. That's not worth 5 second of air time?
Not only that but I’m sure the company that produces the chips wouldn’t mind the exposure too. More exposure, more interest = more sales. Also, I think it would be cool to see a tournament sponsored by Chipco, Bud Jones or Paulson.
