Chips: 125 | | | Has anybody weighed REAL casino chips? The reason I ask this is because I was just given some Wynn Casino and "new" Luxor Casino chips....and they seem to be Paulson House mold chips...but they seem MUCH heaftier than the trademarks.....Especially the Luxor chip...it is heavy.
Do they weigh more?
Does anybody have hard evidence that these chips are heavier than the trademark Paulsons? |

Chips: 1,728 | | | Re: Has anybody weighed REAL casino chips? RFID chips are almost as thin as paper. You'd have to have a pretty good scale to just weigh one, let alone be able to detect a weight difference as the result of one being present. Additionally, they're generally only used in higher value chips (like starting with the $25 or $100 chips), they aren't generally used in the lower value chips that people often take home. Quote: |

It would seem plausible that it would, because the composition of the RFID chip is probably less dense than the composition of the rest of the chip, meaning that the RFID chip itself weighs less than the material it displaced.
Perhaps though, that its displacement is not such that it requires altering the amount of materials going into the base chip, guess we don't know the answer to that one, or do we..... anyone??? |

Chips: 1,728 | | | Re: Has anybody weighed REAL casino chips? Chipco chips would probably be better for this kind of comparison since they're more consistent in weight. And the RFID layer in molded into the chip itself during production. So if someone has a scale that is sensitive enough, they could weigh some sample of say $5 and $25 chips from a casino known to use RFID chips. Should probably weigh several of each denomination to get a spread. Quote: |

Does anybody have hard evidence that these chips are heavier than the trademark Paulsons? | Here are some weights I measured a while ago: http://chiptalk.net/forum/showthread...erchip+weights
I have some of the new Luxors and High Rollers samples. I'll try to weigh them tonight.
