Chips: 12 | | | Question about getting labels for Nexgens Hey guys,
I know this has been covered before, and I did do a search, but soooo many threads came up, most of them with many pages and not specific to what I want to know, I figured it would be easier to just ask for a quick answer.
I just bought 650 RPT Nexgens. My breakdown is as follows:
260 X Green (25)
260 X Black (100)
80 X Purple (500)
50 X (1000)
So I'll have enough for a 13 man tourney with a starting stack of:
20 X 25
20 X 100
5 X 500
With enough 500s and 1000s to colour up the 25s and 100s
So now I'll need 1300 custom labels, and Im wondering where the best place to get them is at the best cost.
Where did you guys get your labels for your nexgens?
Sorry again for posting this but the search really did bring up way too many results to sift through.
Thanks |

Is Jason from this board the member Im thinking of who people often recommend for labels?
Would he be a good choice here? |

Since I have had work done by both, I will say that - in my one order each experience - Lynbark has a slightly better style and imagination on artwork, but Cin's printing is better. Others mileage my vary, but that has been my experience. That said, I would totally feel comfortable going back to either, but probably would use Cin again cause the labels I got (ripped sheets) rock. |

Where did you guys get your labels for your nexgens? | I got mine at www.onlinelabels.com.
I paid $59.95 + shipping for the "White Weatherproof (inkjet)" labels. While I wouldn't describe them as completely "weatherproof", in my experiements the dry ink held up quite well to spraying with water & wiping, at least a few times.

(CinOs3), and the other Jason (Hogwild) who sponsors the Personalpokerchips.com Offers forum on this site. Additionally there is Brett/Lynbark (Lynbark Designs). All three have a history of producing chip labels with glowing testimonials from their satisfied clients. I haven't had any personal experience with any of the three, as I print my own labels.
Insofar as photos are concerned any one of the three listed above can print photos, it's a pretty common capability for any current computer printer these days. Quote: |

Chips: 1,728 | | | Re: Question about getting labels for Nexgens The problem that you've encountered isn't from the labels, but rather from the ink that you're using. Have you tried using a photo ink cartridge instead of normal color ink cartridges? If the ink was affected after spraying, it's also possible that you didn't have an adequate coating on the label (that's presuming that you didn't use a water based spray that isn't permanent; that wouldn't be applicable if you used one of the Krylon products.)
Also, given the cost of the inkjet type weatherproof labels, and some of the results that I've seen from people trying to use inkjets to print labels, I'd be inclined to suggest that they might want to consider one of the label printers as they would be using a laser that heat bonds the toner to the label. But mostly because there are far fewer issues with alignment with the lasers. And lastly, printing color labels with an inkjet can become horrendously expensive in the amount of ink used in addition to the higher cost for poly labels that is compatible for use with an inkjet. Chips: 1,049 | | | Re: Question about getting labels for Nexgens I am waiting for my labels for a set of Nexgens that will be a gift. I ordered through Jason E (CinOs3). I actually made the purchase of 1000 labels through one of his eBay listings, and shipped my total was less than $30.
Working with Jason has been very easy. He understood my concept first time around.
Just as an FYI, I was looking for labels for a 300 chip set. I emailed both Jasons and Lynbark. All three responded quickly, but Jason at PersonalPokerchips.com would not do less than 1000 labels, and Jason E. hit the proverbial nail on the head when it came to concept. I ended up ordering 1000 lables instead of 600 because it was only slightly more expensive for 1000 through eBay than 600 through his website.
For Nexgens Jason E. also showed samples of color-coordinated labels Nexgen RPTs which looked great and as a result swayed me in his favor.
I will let you know what my impressions are once I receive the labels.

My weatherproof inkjet labels have held up quite well--getting them wet once or twice usually shows no smearing at all. It generally takes 3 or more sprays with the spray bottle before they start smearing.

Chips: 1,728 | | | Re: Question about getting labels for Nexgens If the ink starts to smear after 3 sprays from a spray bottle, you've got a problem. The ink hasn't set or is water soulble even after drying. Additionally it would appear that there isn't enough acrylic protecting the ink if it is smearing.
Theoretically, they should not smear at all after it has dried and bonded to the poly material (at least according to Online's claims), but spraying with a protective Acrylic coating would just add a layer of plastic over the ink. And the addition of the acrylic alone should be enough to keep the ink from smearing if there is an adequate coating. Quote: |
