Archetype chipcos

Does anyone have an opinion on the Chipco Archetype chips from buypokerchips.com ? I think the graphics are just right. I have samples of all the chips I'm interested in and @ $1 0r so per chip @ 500 chips I'd like to think my research was worthwhile! Thanks

Re: Archetype chipcos

They're ChipCo's so its really just a matter of whether you like the style or not. There are 2 other places to try that carry ChipCo's in different styles where the prices might better: www.holdempokerchips.com and www.cardroomsupply.com

Re: Archetype chipcos

I checked them out. You're right. Chipcos can be had cheaper but, I'm drawn to the archetype graphic. I can't find any comments on them on chiptalk. Does anyone agree with me, it's a simple yet just bold enough to be interesting, without being overpowering! Am I insane? I've been struggeling over this decision for almost a year. Glad to see there are more people like me out there. My friends think I'm nuts with this chip obsession.

Re: Archetype chipcos

Who cares if anyone agrees with you, do you like 'em? It's your dime get what you like.

FWIW they look fine, I think their spots are crap though. If you're going to invest that much per chip get something that can be eyed from the side. Hell, the whole beauty of ChipCos are they unlimited graphic potential, get your own variation on that theme made up.

Re: Archetype chipcos

i hate them.

i hate the dice on the faux inlay. i hate the faux edgespots. i hate the text on the edge. i hate that it's a ceramic trying to be a clay. i hate the fact that the denom is on the face 5 times (5 times!).

you can do better.

i like the classics better.

i like the egyptians better.

i like the suits quite a lot better

and i like the crystal oysters better.

some of those (oysters, classics, suits a little) try to do a faux clay thing, but pull it off much much better than the archetypes.

Re: Archetype chipcos

Well I don't care for the design, but I do have to say I quite like the silver gradient color scheme on the $5000. Makes for a classy looking high value chip.

Re: Archetype chipcos

Now that jojo has completely trashed the archetypes what are you looking for? I am getting a lot of new chips through the kokopelli group buy and since I will be using those I don’t really need all of the archetypes that I have. PM me and let me know what you are looking for. I have not fully decided if I am going to sell them or not but since you are looking I am definitely beat the BPC price.

These were my first set of good chips after my first set of dice chips. I didnt find this site until long after I got the archetypes. I do like them though.

Funny, chili, I could have typed this post except that I'm not getting the kokos (I'm getting the WSOP instead!).

But stay away from him! I've already PMd him to offer to sell mine!

I really like the Archetypes, and that $5000 chip is by far the best looking of the bunch, but I'm trying to make room for the "underground card room" customs I'm discussing over in the group buy forum.
