You've got several options.
First of all, if you only have $500 to your name and you're not a kid, then I'd suggest that you apply it towards domestic responsibilities (like paying the rent.) If this money you have budgeted towards poker toys or are a dependent minor, then it's a different story.
Anyway, your options would be:
1. Get more of the Nexgen 8000s so that you have a complete set of the same chips (look at personalpokerchips.com for some great prices), or get another set in a different style.
2. Look at Cardroomsupply's site for the clearance sale on Chipco Factory designs at 66¢ each. He also has the Chipco Desparados on sale at the same price.
3. Gabe is going to resell some of those Desparados; you could wait and see how much he's going to ask for them (my guess is that he'll want more than cardroomsupply did and then he'll want shipping on top of that.)
If you can't justify more that 50¢ a chip, and that's a hard stop, then either go with the Nexgens or keep a sharp eye out for bargains on casino grade chips on places like eBay. (you can sometimes get Chipcos for less than 50¢ each if you stay alert)

Then I saw the Desperados for $.50 each and started saving. Was gonna get 1000 - still haven't gotten the Bees yet and was gonna just eat the $150 for the labels.
Now the Desperados are gone and I see that ASM is coming out with some multi-edge spot chips after Christmas. I can't see spending over $500 on 1000 chips and I am intent on getting 1000 chips. I have $500. Help - should I just get the Bees and buy another table - I have 2 nice tables and one crapper I slapped together, or should I wait and see about ASM - I really can't justify more than $.50 a chip and I am guessing they won't be that cheap - also - I got to have multi-color edge spots, so the originals are a no go for me.
Ok, thanks for any help/input. |
