Chips: 2,872 | | | Got a sample pack of Lucky Bees, but... I was surprised to see the number of defects in just 7 chips. The green chip has a white spot on one of the grey edge spots. The black chip looked like it had something stuck on the chip. I scratched at it with my thumbnail and only succeeded in scratching the surface of the chip. On closer inspection the spec appears to be a drop of yellow paint that got into the chip when it was being made. Similarly, the yellow chip has what at first glance appeared to be a smudge but what looks like purple paint that got smeared under surface of the chip. The yellow chip also has edge spots where the purple bleeds into the light blue. That’s 4 defects in 3 chips out of 7. That seems awfully high. While it is true that custom labels would cover up the flaws that appear in the recessed portion, the edge spot flaws would always be visible. I hope this isn’t indicative of the (lack of) quality control in the manufacturing process. I can’t imagine ordering 1000 of them and 43% having some flaw.
I also was surprised to see how slippery the chips were when stacked. Much more slippery than my Royal Suited set (which is basically equivalent to dice chips). All you have to do is wiggle the stack and the top chip or two literally starts spinning. It seems that they’d be more prone to topple when sliding a stack across the table.
I’d be interested in hearing from those who have a set on both the blemish/flaw issue and the slippery stack issue. |

Out of my 1000 chips, 23 total had defects that I could not clean/fix. However, the labels covered a whole bunch of 'marbel' looking recessed centers that would have annoyed the crap out of me if I had to look at those all the time.
As for the chips being slippery, I don't seem to have a problem with that. They stack nice, and aren't extremely wobbly like you were describing. |

As for being slippery - well, they aren't Paulsons, but they are nothing like dice. At least nothing like the dice chips I have played with. Stack of 24 holds up just fine... |

As for Nexgens being "as slippery as dice chips"...are you kidding me? Mine are infinitely less slippery than the dice chips. Heck, they're so much better friction-wise that they're not even in the same league for comparison.

jw | Well I'm comparing them to clays at this point and haven't used my dice chips for several years, so in my memory they are on par with the slippery/non-stackability of dice chips when compared to clays.

The only problem I really found was a bit of flash on the edges that had to be scraped or cut off on a few. They have a bit of a rubbery feel - sort of - it's hard to describe - but they're definitely the best of the cheep chips in my opinion.

Chips: 2,872 | | | Re: Got a sample pack of Lucky Bees, but... Here's a pic of two of the defective chips. You can clearly see the yellow spot on the black chip and the edge spot bleed on the yellow chip, although the purple smear is harder to see in the pic.
