More Ebay BS?

http://cgi.ebay.com/2005-World-Serie...QQcmdZViewItem

Really WSOP 500 chip set?
(Or is that a set of Tangiers?)

Re: More Ebay BS?

Looks like a set of those weird coin chips. A buddy bought a couple sample sets and they looked pretty dumb to me. I think they had Binions on there, but it was spelt Binyons or something like that, pretty cheesy.

Re: More Ebay BS?

The set on the eBay auction looks like the ones that had Binyons plastered on them.

Those are Tangiers. They can be had for $275 at Apache (500 with a case and cards). What a rip off artist.

Re: More Ebay BS?

Actually, maybe there are some type of WSOP knockoffs?

Check this auction out! Same ones I would guess - but they do say WSOP.

Re: More Ebay BS?

There was also a set done with a WSOP inscription that had Binions spelled as "Binyons" that were basically the same design as the Tangiers. The picture in the eBay auction doesn't show enough detail to discern any real factual information about the set one way or another.

Re: More Ebay BS?

I emailed the guy asking if they're real Binions chips (just for laughs). My reply:

"Bid accordingly, they were previously purchased thru Ebay earlier, advertised the same way I have it advertised."

I replied to that with: Sounds like a scam. These are not real WSOP chips.

His reply:
Selling as listed as when I purchased them, find something else to do with your spare time like get a GED

Re: More Ebay BS?

Sounds like a typical eBay mental giant to me. What's your beef?

Actually to be fair, there are quite a few legitimate merchants that do not appear to have any other outlet for their sales, though their efforts are highly discolored by the efforts of all the ill-mannered opportunists who are trying amateur scams on eBay. And I do mean amateur, no self-respecting con-artist would be as stupid as some of those eBay ads. They all but say "I'm dumb, but I'm looking for someone dumber than me to scam".
