Chips: 562 | | | Shipping to Canada? Hi,
If I ship to Canada... do I have to pay something more than just the shipping? Tax or toll or something?
Thanks,
Saemi

Chips: 99 | | | Re: Shipping to Canada? Depends on the item and the cost of the item. There are many tariff classifications. Chips and playing cards are duty free but you have to pay GST/PST plus a brokerage fee for a company to clear Customs for you. If you do your own clearance than you save the brokerage fee. On other items, there migh be duty and excise tax on top of above. If the cost is low, it generally goes thru without any charges. But beware of UPS, they wanted to charge a brokerage fee of $15 for a $.25 cd shipped to me a few years ago. |

I'm thinking about shipping 500 pharaoh's to a friend of mine who would then take them to Iceland.
Pavel6969 - I don't really know what this means "All the stuff Dad talked about is only on the Canadian end" what is the Canadian end? I would ship to British Columbia..?? |

This, I believe, depends on the shipping method used. |

The person receiving the chips in BC, Canada may be subject to customs duty and any applicable sales taxes (GST/PST) where applicable, additionally if the process through Customs in Canada requires the services of a private party to facilitate the process, your friend may also be subject to a fee for customs brokerage. When this person takes the chips to Iceland, they (or you) may again be subject to any applicable customs duties going into your country along with any applicable taxes. Quote: |

Chips: 19 | | | Re: Shipping to Canada? I agreed to ship some Chipcos to someone in Canada after she convinced me it wouldn't cost more. Problem is, Customs tore open the package before she got it. Chips ended up broken and missing. They also broke one of the acrylic racks. I no longer ship to Canada. Be careful... |

I Fedexed something recently to Alberta and Fedex wanted to know this. I have flown with gifts several times and only had to pay this once at customs. Usually the Canadian customs officers are "Whatever." |

If the person you're shipping to lives relatively close to the border, you could always ship it to a UPS location nearby, and they could go across, pick up the package, and take it back themselves. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
