I figured I would give a quick review on how these chips have stood the test of time ( as short as that time period is) Im pretty sure that My chips have seen the most game use up to this point.
Let me start off by saying I have held around 45 Tourney using these chips.
I use the $25 $100 $500 and $1000 denominations. I dont color up so all colors remain on the table and in use for the same amount of time. The chips are handled like they would be in a casino, there is no special treatment rules in effect while playing with these chips. The pot is sometimes splashed and chips have been slammed down and dropped on an uncarpeted wooden floor floor numerous times.
I have noticed that the colors will darken which is of course no surprise. The chips have gotten somewhat worn ( smoother than brand new chips ) and a little dirty looking, but its probably more so the colors rubing off on each other that the chips picking up actual dirt. A few chips have that cake like build up on the outer rim that is oh so common on casino chips. I have yet to figure out what exactly that substance is, but i ussualy just scrap it off with my fingernail.
As far as wear and tear are concerned I have had no chips crack or even chip from the abuse they have seen. I have noticed that if I stack chips that have been used in the tourney and compare them to factory fresh ones the stack from the tourney is about 1/64th of an inch shorter. The stacks I am comparing are of 22 chips. 12$25 chips 7 $100 chips 2 $500 chips and 1 $1000 chip. That works out to about .0007 of an inch per chip and .005 percent of a chips total height, so I figure I have about 899,550 tournaments left before the chips vanish into thin air. I know this seems a bit much, but what Im trying to say is that these chips will last a long long time.
I hope this review is of some use to people on this forum, and if you need any more info please PM me and Ill see if I can help.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I have not played as many tournaments with my Paulson's as you have, but my chips seem to be in very similar condition to yours - although I have noticed some instances of chipping. I also do not have any concerns as to the long-term durability of my set, which is good because I don't ever plan on getting rid of them.
