Egads. 14.2g each? Where will it end? Soon you'll need a fork lift to carry a set of 1000 chips.

Wonder how heavy a set of 1000 solid gold chips are. Imagine playing poker with $1 silver, $20 gold and $100 platinum coins!!! Now THAT would be the ultimate set.

A solid cylindrical gold chip measuring 2r = 39 mm and h = 3.3 mm weighs

3.14 x (3.9cm/2)² x 0.33cm x 19.2g/cm³ = 76 g

1000 solid gold chips then weighs 76 kg ~ 168 lbs.

A silver chip is 41 g, a platinum is 84 g.

Other metals:

Iron 31 g
Copper 35 g
Aluminium 11 g

An ice chip would be around 3.6 g and a diamond chip around 14 g.

TT

Edit: Typo correction and addition of diamond.

Before I purchased the "all clays" that pjcc has I did have the opportunity to handle these particular chips. The faces on some of them were a little hard to read as far as the value was. The twenty five dollar on the sample was kind of bad actually. The colors are ok the standard red green black and so on. As far as the weight I did not think they felt any heavier than the 11.5 grams that the normal composite/slug/insert or however its termed weighed.

I was able to see the chips in there packaging, as well. The one thing that I am not entirely sure about though was the samples they had out must have been handled a lot because the chips in the packaging was a lot more vibrant and the faces were easier to see as well. I hope this helps.

You hit that nail on the head. I would really be offended if it were not so very true.

Group buy? :ducks head:

If gold chips only- 168 lbs @ $458/oz = about $1.23 mil.... not including case and cards! Different metals' price would depend on Chipper's breakdown.

Wonder how many CT points that woud be?

Close as I can figure, 1 CT point has a value of about a penny looking at some of the other merchandise offered. So take your 276, divide by 2, and multiply by a million- or somewhere thereabouts...
