Chips: 1,037 | | | Please help with my Denoms I'm looking at doubling the size of my set.
I have 500 chips currently.
Usually we play cash games with a 20buy-in/rebuys and .25/.50 blinds.
I would like to incorporate .10 chips to the set to play low limit .10/.25 cash games with a 10buyin/rebuy.
I would also like to maximize the set for use in tournaments as well.
Currently I have the following:
150 - 25 denom chips
150 - 50 demon chips
100 - 100 denom chips
50 - 500 denom chips
50 - 1000 denom chips
Any suggestions would be greatly apprecaited!
Thanks in advance!

I would go with this
150- 10 denom
50 - 25 denom
100 - 100 denom
100 - 500 denom
50 - 1000 denom
Thats at 450, so i guess go with 50 more 50 denoms, but most people round these parts aren't real fond of the 50 denom |

Chips: 5,848 | | | IMHO, I don't like having a lot of .10 chips because they are only useful for the small blind and you can't use them to make big blind. You might want to only get a few of them maybe 5/player. When someone bets the SB, put in a .10. If they call the BB, swap .25 for the .10. The only .10 chips in play are when the SB folds then. |

Chips: 84 | | | I enjoy having 10 pieces so when you play dealers choice and have games like 7 card stud, you can make that the minimum bet. Just my preference. |

Chips: 5,848 | | | True, if you are playing ante games (stud, draw, etc) then having a decent number of dimes would make more sense. Just depends on what you are playing. |

Chips: 596 | | | I would just drop to 25/25 and forget about the small blind it really doesn't make sense to me. Most of the home games I play in people just call the BB anyway. |

Chips: 1,037 | | | Finally got back to checking this.
There are two reasons I want to incorporate .10 chips to my set.
1. I'd like to run low-limit $10 buyin cash games now and then depending on my guest list so I need .10 chips to run a good .10/.25 blind cash game.
2. I like using the standard tourney blind schedule on HPT.com which starts at 10/20 and needs .10 chips as well.
Do you guys think this is the best addition then?
150- 10 denom
50 - 25 denom
100 - 100 denom
100 - 500 denom
50 - 1000 denom
Thanks, any additional help would be great.

Chips: 2,046 | | | 40 years ago 10˘ in play, today I feel like the lowest standard IMHO should be 25˘, 50˘ even for those stud games or dealer choice games people play. That brings up a new game I have found, pharoh hold-em too new to comment on this except to say sounds like fun. |

Chips: 1,728 | | Bear in mind that some of the participants here are kids. So nickel/dime games may be all they're playing. And a lot of novice adults play pretty small stakes as well, especially those who play online. Word has it that Phil Ivey's wife plays very small stakes micro games on line (in the penny range.)
40 years ago, you could still find 5˘ chips in some casinos, and 5˘ was our ante. Now it's either one, two, or four quarters, but that's not everyone's game. Quote: |
