Unicorns are a very nice cheap chip for real casinos. They feel "real" and play real well, for the price. They have the feel of the old BJ suits chips.
I like the unicorns, I use them as either .25 or .50 chips in my Vineyard cash game set. They are the same height (stacks of 20 line up perfectly) and width as the Paulsons - although lighter. Nice chips for the money. You can also put labels on them and they look and feel great.
I have a set that I stumbled on and my local card room uses them in tournies. Their chips obviously get a lot of use so the edges are rounded and shuffle beautifully. My relatively new unicorns shuffle as well though the feel isnt as 'effortless'. Sound isnt annoying either.
I promised a review. I think I'll get cracking on it this weekend....
Here's a very well worn Unicorn I took off a casino boat in Myrtle Beach SC a couple of months ago.
I really like these chips. They're much more expensive than faux clays or sopranos, so any comparison needs to take that into account. If I were going to buy a set of non-denoms, and I had 35¢ apiece to spend, that would be my chip!
