I'd bet if they have a live for play $10 chip, he would just go buy those instead even up....now he could go buy some actual $25's and be really cool. And for only $5 more than a plaque would cost and no tangible re sale cash in value.

What's really nice about this set is that he can go cash them in and get new chips every year...mint Paulson's at no cost on a renewable basis...It just does not get any better than that/

Uh. Not sure if I am misreading what you wrote, but the plaques will be more than $5 less than a house $25. The $20 Lion plaques will likely be around $10-$12.

What happened to the $20 plaques being $8-$10? When will we get actual pricing?

That was just off the top of my head. (They'll probably be about $240 for you though.........You know 12x face value )

Jin is out of town, so I won't get an answer from him until next week.

Re: Ultimate MGM Detroit Cash Set (PR0N)

Oh my, i have been waiting for these pictures since the weekend...

You sir, are my hero! That is one of the prettiest $5 chips ever. The $1s are up there in my list of favorite casino $1 chips, right next to the Grand Casino Gulfports. And as for the $0.25s simply sick. There isn't much competition out there, but it blows the rest out of the water...

Wanna tell us the adventure of building this set?

What games do they spread at the MGM Detroit?

Re: Ultimate MGM Detroit Cash Set (PR0N)

One more thing: as pretty as the snappers are, why do you need so many? Do you run a 2.5/5 limit/NL game? Why not trade the two racks of snappers for a rack of $5s, or sell a rack of snappers, probably enough to buy 2 racks of those amazing $5s. This has to be THE set of the year...

Yep, that's pretty much it, lol.

Here's why, actually. First, they are my favorites of the 4 quantities and they offer some color and an additional chip denomination into the smaller games, which help keep some of the quarters active.

The Second reason is that I can still use them in a $1/$2 NL game, using 2 as the $5 quantity. It was hard spending the $5 per chip for the fives, so having so many was a good alternative, until I decided to finally pull the trigger.

Third, because I could. Seriously, I really just like the looks of them. I have my birdcage sitting on my credenza in my home office, and have the two racks of snappers on top of three racks of quarters, facing me, and they just look cool together.

I haven't introduced the set into play yet, but am itching to. I finally also decided to order some of the Zion Plaques as a good way to do rebuys and can't wait for those now. I may add some more chips to the set, but have set a max of 2100 chips for the set (2 birdcages full with each rack holding 105). This means I may add another 105 $5's and some more $1's, but we'll see.

God this set is just so awesome. This is the kind of casino set I'd want at my game, breakdown and all.
