I'm still in awe.......the face value alone is nuts. If ever you need too, what would be the resale value? I guess you can't put a price on sentimental value.

Looks to me like face value is $1300.
Very nice set.

Re: In Celebration of my 1 Year on Chiptalk!
Thanks Everyone! I have had a great time both putting together this set and chatting with many Great People here on CT. I look forward to many more years on this great site.
The chips that just came in Yesterday were 28 MGM $3s to complete the Rack and the Set. I figure that rack alone has set me back more than $800. But, I make up value on the Detroit Quarters and $1 which were both purchased at Face Value.
When there is a nice Sunny Day I will post some more PrOn!
Now where can I get some MGM Lion Door handles

I'm going to have to work my way into one of those cash games. Love the quarters.
What cash game structure do you use?

Re: In Celebration of my 1 Year on Chiptalk!
This set has NEVER touched Felt and I don't think it will. All of the chips are Uncirculated except most of the $3s. I really wouldn't want anyone handling these I might pull my hair out considering what I have spent on the set.

Never really understood this... It's like not opening wax packs of baseball cards.
Chips were meant to be played... Breaking them in gives the chips character. Leaving them on the shelf is, well... sad...
What's with the Detroit 1's *and* the LV 1's? Why different quarters (old Detroit and new Detroit)?
That rack of $3 chips is worth more than the rack fo fivers, I would guess...

Hmmmm, have a beautiful set of chips, but you won't ever use them?
Are they for an investment? save them for 10 yrs, sell and make a profit?
I wouldn't have the will power not to put them in play, every friggen chance I got.

Re: In Celebration of my 1 Year on Chiptalk!
Wedge its like this. I have plenty of other chips to use. I am not saying it won't ever see play but the thought of my using this set at a greasy pizza party leaves a knot in my stomach.
I put this set together more as an Investment. In 20-30 yrs I wonder what it will be worth? It also has a lot of sentimental value to me. I spent 51/2 yrs dealing at MGM, Detroit. I dealt Craps and Roulette. So to me I would rather play with my PNY set or some T-Molds. It just wouldn't make sense to use this and the people that I play with could careless what chips we play with anyways.
