Chips: 161 | | | Help me build my Mixed Cash set - Best color for Cherry and best Paulson $10 chip? EDIT --------
I should have added what the other chips in the set will be. One of the games I play in is a .10/.20 game, so IMO we needed a .10/.50/2/10 chip breakdown to have the proper denoms based on the conventional 5x rule.. I posted pictures of what the set is going to be.. I hesitated sharing until it was complete, but I might as well get the help and advice of those who know chips!
----------------
Putting together a cash set and looking for the best Paulson TH&C $10 chip? The two I've found that would fit the set well are the Palais de Congress or the Crystal Park.. I also need to figure out what color cherry I want (and that obviously depends on what $10 I get)
Anybody have other suggestions?
.10 - Cherry (don't know what color yet)
.50 - Le Cove
2.00 - Vineyard
I personally think both the Palais de Congress and the Crystal Parks would mesh great.. It all depends also on what color of Cherry I go for..
Thanks for your help.
Here's the Palais and CP's:

The Le Cove $10 is pretty nice too. And probably a little easier to get.

I like the Le Cove 10 as well, but I'm building a mixed Paulson cash set, and I am already using a Le Cove chip, as well as a vineyard.. So, I think those two are out..
Luckily, I will only need 10-40 of these, depending on what I can find and price.. |

Chips: 372 | | | Re: Best Paulson $10 chip? My favourite $10 chip ever, hands down, is the Bellagio $10 poker chip. When I was in Vegas a month ago I was able to get a new one pretty easy (i.e., the person at the cage didn't have to sort through too many), so you could probably get what you wanted in decent to mint condition without too much trouble. I imagine there are loads of CTers in Vegas right now at the CC & GT CC convention (sadly, I'm not one of them )-- post a 'WTB' with a finders fee, and in the case that someone is checking the board they can probably help you out.
The best part is, you'll probably pay about the same price as some of the options you mention, and you've got a live chip. So, if (or when, if you are a true addict ) you get sick of them, or if you play them until they are dirty and rounded and in a condition that you could never sell them here for any great price, you can cash them in and get virtually all of your money back.
That's a smart move, that is.

P.S. I'm sure you know what it looks like, but if not, it's the 6th chip in the chain below, in between the Hard Rock and Golden Nugget $10 chips. |

Chips: 372 | | | Re: Best Paulson $10 chip? Upon further reading, I noticed you wanted a TH&C Paulson, so the Bellagio house mold might put it out of the running. Well, I say rules are made to be broken! I still recommend it as the way to go.
Of course, if you simply must have a Paulson TH&C chip for your $10, you could always go with the Casino de Isthmus. Of course, those will run you $75+ each, so there are probably less expensive ways to go...

Chips: 40 | | | Re: Best Paulson $10 chip? My personal preference would be the Crystal Park. I like the off color and all the crystal parks are nice looking chips. Just my opinion. Hopefully you can find someone to part with 10 to 14 of them for your set it would be a great addition. |

Chips: 161 | | | Re: Help me build my Mixed Cash set - Best Paulson $10 chip? For the Cherry .10 chip, I think that if I went with the dark CP 10 chip, I think a light blue would look real nice. If I got some Palais, obviously the light blue wouldn't work.. |

If you are going to drop that sort of $$$ you may as well just pay face for the Bellagio $10's. Those are some of the sweetest chips out there.

***** Edit ***** I didn't see the other posts suggesting the same thing. Great minds think alike. That chip would definity send your set over the top though.... DO IT!

- Couga | I'll tell you what one problem would end up being with getting the Bellagio chip..
Inevitably, someone would be over playing, and realize that it is the exact $10 chip in play at the bellagio, say something about it, and my wife would be like "You paid $10 per chip for all of those!!??!?!?!"
At least with the others, I have the guise of saying, "No honey, they are casino's that went out of business so the chips aren't in play.. they didn't cost hardly anything " | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
