Chips: 2,818 | | | Oldcycles tribute chip gallery The news of Oldcycles' passing has hit those of us who knew him or even just knew of him - whether just from a single transaction or a long friendship - pretty hard. I won't claim to be his best friend, but we did share two passions that we chatted about from time to time: chips, and motorcycles. It makes me sad to know that a fellow chipper and biker won't be around anymore.
This gallery is the best way I know of to pay tribute to a fellow chipper and a fellow biker. The images I'm posting are of the single transaction he and I had, when I sold him a Vegas Harley Davidson gift chip through Jamby. Even though it was our only transaction, I know he liked the chip; and that makes me smile. Please feel free to add chip images from your transactions or games with Oldcycles, or even just chips that you know he loved. | | Sponsored Links | |

Scott was one of the first people who got in on a few hundred of these chips. I still have mine and will think of Scott everytime we put them in play. He loved those Blue Chip casino quarters....

Chips: 246 | | | Re: Oldcycles tribute chip gallery I got a complete set of Rounders KGBs from Scott. I'd had a hard time getting the elusive $1. He was great to deal with throughout and I posted that here and on the Chip Board at the time.
He will be missed.
Neil
p.s. I couldn't get my old photo of the chips Scott sold me so last night I took another one with an Oldcycles tribute theme. Sorry for the quality.

Its a sad sad day today for me | The details, to the extent they are known: http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/596437-post45.html
This tribute is great; I hope we will be able to eventually find and contact his family (he should have some; he was only 45) and direct them to this thread to show how Scott touched a large number of us on this forum. |

Chips: 3,054 | | | Re: Oldcycles tribute chip gallery On behalf of the "Faux Clay Nation", OldCycles infiltrated "Generation Nex" and started bashing Nexgen chips. We continued to "fight" about it in the public forums, but were privately messaging each other, congratulating each other on our insults and discussing the pros and cons of each chip, noting that everything going on publicly was, of course, in jest. The battle spilled over into other threads, too... http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/poker-...en-owners.html http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/want-b...aux-clays.html
Rest in peace, my friend.
*EDIT* To demonstrate his sense of humour (and explain why I thought he was just busy in the "Anyone heard from Oldcycles" Thread), here's the last PM he sent me (dated June 5, 2007): Quote: |

Sorry just things are nuts over here.
Took me 3 months to pack 5 chips for someone worth over 400.00.
You think for that much I could find the time but with the post office changing things (shipping to canada is a hassle) and all I got going on even the little things get over looked.
Only reason I saw this was because I had to pay bills that are over a month late just because I have no time.

I remember when I was first posting this pic in my 'wet' stamped thread, I was thinking that someone out there, probably good ol' oldcycles, would offer to buy the oranges (as was the trend of the time). Sure enough, he posted in the thread soon after, jokingly saying that I "needed to sell him the oranges!"
Rest in peace, Scott. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
