The story of some very "cool" chips

I'm not sure where this should go, so I put it under general. It may be more appropriate for gallery, but these chips have a backstory that I wanted to share with everyone.

As some of you may have read, I made my first trip to a casino a few weeks back. It was Casino Windsor in Ontario, Canada. Somehow, I ended up leaving with no chips (but up a little bit of money!)

Wedge Rock generously offered to send me a few Polar Bears to add to my collection, since I didn't get to leave with any. But, it didn't stop there!

We got to talking a little bit, and eventually it lead to myself wanting a full rack of these chips. Now, I saw the chips when at the casino, and it's hard to find some nice ones. I went into this knowing, and accepting that.

I sent him some money, with no expectations on the date of receipt, since he was going to have to cross the border to get them for me. He also had a lot of things going on himself, including the birth of his new baby boy (Congratulations!)

Only two weeks later, the chips were in my mailbox! I got them right before work, let them soak in some Dawn and warm water, and counted the time at work until I could home and clean them off (they were a bit dirty..)

After countless hours (okay, so I counted them, it was about 3 and a half) of cleaning with a toothbrush, re-rinsing, then drying them off, they're nice and clean, and ready to be shared with the CT community.

Who says old casino chips can't stack?

Go ahead and pay premium prices for uncirculated chips! These babies are nice and worn in, have seen a lot of things, and are now resting comfortably in my possession. I couldn't be happier

Once again, none of this would be possible without Wedge Rock. Thank you so much!

Re: The story of some very "cool" chips

Wow, those cleaned up nicely, Butter. I tried to get you ones without edge nicks...which is hard to do with 10-15 year-old RH&C's.

Enjoy the chips!

Re: The story of some very "cool" chips

Thanks Wedge - I remember seeing the $5 now. Love the chips - but what the heck is that duck about on the $100 chip?
