So the 100 new suited mold chips I ordered arrived today and being a Paulson lover I was interested in seeing the difference between my old mold Pharoahs and the new suited mold and I noticed right away that I liked the suited mold alot better. The colors and weights seem to match as well as the stack size as you can see. The suited molds are on the top and my other pharoahs on the bottom.
By far my favorite chip is the orange 1000 in the suited mold. Look at the detail and concentric circles. Beautiful ! In fact all the suited mold chips are beautiful but so are the Pharoahs I already have.
So you might be asking yourself "So how do these chips stack up to the old Pharoahs?". Just take a look. .......................................
These are the suited mold chips on the right in a nice stack of 100 and the old mold chips a slightly better stack of 100 on the left. The good news is you can stack them 100 high without the suited molds falling . If you are only stacking 40 chips at most theres only a slight wobble. The wobble gets much more pronounced after that. The old mold Pharoahs are like bricks with slight sway at 100 chips. I just finished flattening out 1200 suited mold shaped inlays Paulsons and the stacking and wobble problem is vastly improved by the flattening process. I know this is only one aspect of a chip and I give the suited mold high marks in all other areas. Paulson like it or not is still argueably the best home chip on the market but I'm keeping my old mold Pharoahs even though I like the new mold better. In terms of actual play I don't think chip wobble makes a damn bit of difference but the old mold Pharoahs were made better and I don't think you should buy brand new chips and have to flatten them yourself like I did. I won't be buying the new NCV Pharoahs although I really wanted to.
