Casino Newfoundland chip action shots

Well, sort of. These pictures were taken by a friend on Boxing Day when we had a "big" (for us) tournament of 10 people. The main table only fits 8, and just barely at that, so we had two tables until 2 people busted out. If I had anything to do with the pictures, I'd have gotten better shots of the action. But I guess he was mostly concerned about taking pics of who was playing.

I ended up splitting the pot once we got heads up so we could start on a cash game, as we had been playing for 4 hours or so by that point.

I'm the guy in the plaid shirt, and they start shortly after the tables merged.

I'm pretty sure that last picture with with was my hand, and I ended up busting out another player with my flush.

The next game we have I will try to remember to bring my camera to get some good shots

Re: Casino Newfoundland chip action shots

So it looks like your playing with custom ASM chips and using that purple Samuri as a dealer Button? Whats the typical buy-in for your game? I like the eight sided table but how cramped is it?

You were a partial inspiration for both In the whisky thread here and the Palmas chips - simply awesome colours on some of those. One of my friends told me that my scotch "tasted like burning", heheh. Once you get adjusted to the strength though, it's a beautiful drink. And yes, I'll attempt to get some good closeups next time, with my own camera.

Edit: My custom chips have threads here and here, and of course in the custom clay gallery thread.

I was using that Samurai chip that night as my card cover. I pick some random chip out of my samples to use as a card cover each time we play

A typical buy-in for our game is just $5-10, it's a fairly social game and a lot of fun. Some of us do take the actual poker somewhat seriously, so play is interesting and fun.

How cramped it is depends on the size of the players, really. I'm smaller, so I tend to have more room on my side I think even an extra 6" (I don't recall offhand just how big it is) would have made a big difference, but it's still fairly comfortable playing on when we do have 8 players. Most often we have 5-6 or so, sometimes 7. The friend that built the table had planned on expanding the actual playing surface (with padding and good felt, because of me) and maybe a padded rail, but he ended up moving across the country for another job.

I got to play the whole game at the "feature" table, we were using one of those folding padded card tables for the other one

Thanks They do appreciate them, though probably not as much as I do. But they've gotten spoiled playing with good chips and good cards, they don't like playing with the regular old dice chips and Bicycle cards anymore!

And yeah, it looks like he does. He's from here as well though - maybe he picked it up on a visit there or some other random place. He's currently teaching in Japan and was home for Christmas.

They say there's a sucker born every minute

I never got to have a sucker myself - the first guy that busted out found them behind the bar, and they were all gone before I had a chance to get one

Our home games are generally like that though, some booze and a lot of fun.

That looks like a blast! Just my kind of game. Great chips, cards, beverages, and friends. There is nothing like a social game of poker.
