Chips: 3,644 | | | Re: My Speakeasy chips w/oil! Did you oil the entire chip or just the rolling edge? It appears as though you did the entire chip, but I just wanted to make sure. What kind of oil did you use and how did you go about oiling them? Forgive my ignorance, but my custom BCs are about to be ordered, so I'll need to know how to do this when the time comes.
Thanks.

Russ | Russ, there are tons of treads and posts on this. I've read a ton. I take Mineral Oil (pure mineral oil, NO vegetable type products), pour a bunch in a large commercial cookie sheet, drop the chips in, use a basting (sp?) brush to make sure all the tops are coated -- some chips are completely submerged -- take them out, ONE BY ONE (ugh), wipe quickly with a big soft, mostly the center inlay, and then lay them out like the pic over night. Use a new towel to dry off a bit more before storing away.
I got some Desert Palms a while back and I'll never forget 2_hotty's post about how dramatically different his were (which I bought from him btw) after oiling -- and I thought to myself, yeah right. I was wrong. It just takes time. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
