Chips: 2,654 | | | My New Desert Palms Chinese Imports I ordered a sample set of these and I was impressed by the low cost and how they looked stacked, shuffled, sounded and felt so I ordered 500 for 23 cents each and they arrived today so I thought I'd show you what the whole set looks like. They didn't have a 5000 chip so I got the white NCV's but I also ordered 40 5000$ chips from the original Desert Palm clay set for 96 cents each to see how they would go together. Well heres what they look like
These chips are definitely not Paulsons but they are attractive and handle well. They are heavier than the orignal Desert Palms but the 5000$ clay chips are definitely higher quality clay than the chinese imports. Still the chinese chips shuffle and sound better. This set would have cost me about $ 500 for 500 of the original Desert Palms and I spent well about 170$ for all the chips you see pictured(including the 5000$ chips). I think if your're in the market for Nexgens but want clay with denominations and inlays these chips offer some distinct advantages. But you be the judge. Let me know what you think. |

These chips are a direct competitor to all the Nexgens and in my own opinion, they blow all the Nexgens out of the water, hands down. |

Chips: 476 | | | Re: My New Desert Palms Chinese Imports after closer examination of my 25 and 50 cent chips I am still impressed. I am just a novice with no real chip experience, but the 50 cent imports at 25 cents each are great quality for the price. It's hard to say if the claim that they are a new type of injection molded clay is true. But the bottom line, at this price, with the look and the feel and the weight and sound of the chip, I am very satisfied. The inlay is a little slick, but that doesn't bother me. They stack well too. I did notice when I compare my 25 cent clay desert palms and the 50 cent imports, I can fit 21 clays in my chip racks, vs. 20 imports. I also noticed the the diameters of the 50 cents imports do have some minor variation. That is probably the one minor flaw that I can find with the imports. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
