Chips: 896 | | | I just picked up 2 sets (for no real apparent reason.) $21.36 for 480 chips, 2 decent wood carousels, and 4 decks of crap cards. For "cheap chips" you could do a lot worse. They weigh 7.4g and are a little thinner than a paulson. A stack of 20 is the height of 18 Paulsons. They have a lightly textured surface and stack fairly well. They shuffle OK, prob a little more difficult due to thinness and weight. The dimples from the molding are in the recessed area's on the surface of the chip so they dont get in the way. They sound decent, much nicer than the clink of metal insert chips. If you use clays or ceramics these are nothing to get excited over, but if your looking for a decent starter set or just cant stand the metal clunk anymore, this is a great deal for the price. And who the Hell cares who Michael Graves is? |

Chips: 1,728 | | I scoured 4 stores and managed to scrape up 2 sets as well. Also for no apparent reason. They were marked down to 19.98 but were 9.98 at the scanner and register. I haven't taken any of the chips out of the wrappers as these may end up being Christmas presents, but a stack of 30 is roughly about the height of about 25-26 chips. I'd figure the carousels to be 200 chip carousels holding 25 chips per slot (to keep numbers even, they'll actually hold 26-27 normal chips.
Unlike everyone else, I do happen to know of Michael Graves architectural work. Quote: |

Chips: 2,017 | | Picked up 4 because...I started this thread?
I like the carousel, fits standard cards and chips, solid wood, sturdy handle and nice architectural design. Compared to other 200 count wood carousels for $30+ (without chips/cards), this is a good deal. The racks will be used to display some custom ASM as well as future Amer Beauties and Matsui GBs.
There are 10 more sets at the Bayfair, San Leandro, CA store if anyone wants them.
Here are some funny reviews from amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/cus...ng=UTF8&s=toys | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
