Chips: 14,006 | | | Case for the Pharaoh's Set I've got 1000 Pharaoh's plus 20 plaques on the way. I need one case for the set or two cases that hold 500 each. Ideally, the plaques would go in the case(s) also. Needs to be portable, not the huge decorative case that takes up residence in the poker room. Haven't seen anything that would hold 1000 and the plaques, so 500 case may be the way to go.
Any recommendations?
5Star is having a Memorial Day sale, 25% off, but I've only located this one case that appears to hold 500 + plaques. (WIll 10 plaques fit in the card slots?) Looks to be the low end. I have one 500 chip set already in an aluminum case, and it has served its purpose and held up.
What are others buying? |

Chips: 14,006 | | | I got that wooden chest that is reviewed here and it would definitely hold them all. Its semi-portable since it has handles on it, etc.
But I'm familiar with those 500 chip cases from 5 star and can say with 99.9% certainty that you can 5 5 plaques in each of the card deck spaces. (I only have 1 handy, but 5 would seem to fit fine).

Chips: 6,883 | | ive got a 1000 Pharoahs on the way and im picking up one of these bad boys, probably off ebay, seems to be the cheapest so far..even with the damn typical $40 shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1
I used to have my 500 set in a black lacquer case, but have decided on this as a practical way to transport and even display my 1000 chips. something about carrying this case, all loaded with Pharoahs is enough to make any chip enthusiast pop a chubby.

Chips: 29,466 | | One of those birdcage carriers might be quite nice. I don't have one (yet), but several other people here do. (Did you see the member reviews for cases?). There might be enough space on top of the chips for the plaques...
Here's an aluminum case that would hold 1000 chips plus plaques plus cards. http://pokerchipsdepot.com/item.asp?...cID=48&PID=401
Otherwise, I think you're looking for 2 cases that hold 500 chips + cards. The plaques will fit in the card slots, no problem.
Of the cheap aluminum cases, I think the "executive" case is a little nicer/better than the one you found, and the "elite" case is the best I've found so far.

Chips: 76 | | | yeah, i'm in the same boat, but need one that will hold at least 1600 pharoah's and 20 plaques. I like the tournament rolling case (trolley) that holds 2000 from pokerchipdepot, but after the review here, I do not think it is a wise decision. I may just get 2 of the 1,000 tournament rolling case from the same place, but I am unsure whether they hold up worth a dang either. Has anyone used one of these 1,000 rolling carriers.
Also, is pokerchipsdepot the only company that has a 2,000 rolling case? surely, someone else carries such a case. however, from my search, it is the only one I can find.
Is there a 2,000 chip birdcage anywhere? |

Is there a 2,000 chip birdcage anywhere? | I haven't found any large capacity chipcases other than that 2000 rolling case and the American Oak case. (I did the review of the 2000 rolling case, and you can see some of my Egyptians in the review of the Oak case.) I really can't recommend the 2000 chip case, unless you promise you'll never lift a loaded case by the handle.
I'm sure the 1000 chip rolling case would not have the same structural weakness. If you get one of these, please do a review.
I really like the oak case. You could fit 1700 chips + 150 octagons + 50 plaques into that case and still have room for cards and buttons. Add one of those luggage wheelie things, and you'd have a great (but heavy) rolling case.
I saw that ebay sale for a ton of vinyards (the sale that was later spoofed) -- that guy had a 2000 chip birdcage but I've never seen another one before or since. I don't think a 2000 chip birdcage is such a great idea, though. You'd probably be better off with 2 1000 chip birdcages.
If anybody else knows of large capacity cases, please post!

Chips: 102 | | | Now that is a nice case Daniel. There should be room under the removable chip racks for about 75-100 extra chips. I have a similar case waiting for my Pharaohs. It is oak with removable chip racks but no glass top. I got it at HOM furniture...that's right, a furniture store. If you think that is funny, my local grocery store (Cub Foods in Forest Lake MN) is now selling dice chips in an aluminum case for $49.99...a grocery store! I suppose they will start showing up in gas stations and coffee shops soon. |

Chips: 1,455 | | | NO kidding addict!
i see them everywhere, i know one local liquor store near my house that has chips for sale in a case with cards and dice...(but they are korean owners so you know how we asians do this...capitalize on everything)....
anyhoot....
i kinda liked the glass top, just so that folks can see the chips..
i usually set up my chips in the case so that the denoms are already distributed evenly and all i have to do is figure out how many folks are playing and hand them out....(as opposed to having all the greens in one row, blacks in another, etc....)
I bought this case off of ebay from 5star and it ws cheap.
cant wait for the shipment to come in...
free,

Now that is, um, organized...
Thanks for all the recommendations. I kind of like the rolling wheelie 1000 case, but I just can't see hauling that out of the house. Its almost ... too much.
Probably going to go with the 500 x2 option that will hold the plaques, and take advantage of a sale,. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
