Custom pron...but not chips?

I have always loved the look of Birdcages for chips but was never able to bring myself to put 20+ pounds of poker chips into something that was basically held together by two lousy screws. Fine if they are moving two feet from your shelf to your table but my game is not held at home. My chips travel weekly to the game location (basically a factory unit with an internal space converted to a poker room) so each week they go in the car to my office then to the game then home. 11 cash sets on rotation, rinse and repeat. No way is a standard birdcage making this more than a few times before I am playing the 1000 chip pickup game, somewhere in the car park.




Until now all my chips have lived in standard cases but I wanted to use at least a few birdcages for some of the bigger sets (my original customs, PCA's and a new DSQ set on the way from ASM). So I buy a birdcage, take it to the guy who runs our Maintenance Department and tell him what I want (he also plays in the game so that helps). He smiles at me and walks away with the plastic birdcage.

Four weeks later he calls my office and tells me he has something for me. I go over to his office and find: 5 new Custom Birdcages. Two piece welded aluminium and matching plastic covers. They are light, unbreakable and look amazing IMO:

sweetness. Is the black plastic angle bead welded to the acrylic? These would look even more nicerer if that was also aluminium.

put me down for 3. those are awesome! I'm in the same boat with lugging around my chips and am also worried about the bottom dropping out of a standard birdcage.
