Your right, its not on the website anymore. the 'other' 2000 chip case looked like a 1000 chip briefcase stlye case but with a folding handle (like luggage).

J5,

I was looking for Ten's case just yesterday and couldn't find it. It seems that PCDepot took it off their site - hopefully just until they get more in stock.

Has anyone seen a case that holds ~1500-1600 chips? Does anyone know of someone who makes custom-sized chip cases? Thanks.

I'm starting to wonder if you guys that need more than 1k chips toted around could find a musician's case that happens to hold racks of chips securely. Most of them have some way to partition the inside. Just an idea...

I use a bird cage, paid about fifty bucks with shipping charges, on ebay.
IT is very functional, and displays them nicely also.

500 chip case

I decided that I didn't like the 750 chip case that everyone else is talking about, so I bought 2 of these:

http://www.5stardeal.com/deals/10Exp...10-PC500<br />

They hold my 1000 PC.com customs nicely, with room for decks/dealer buttons on the bottom inside. I have cheap aluminum case with 300 cheap composites that I travel with when needed. I'm going to replace these with a set of the Ten's Paulsons.

could you post pics of your chips in the bidcage...? Is there anything on the bottom of it holding the racks in place? Or is the only thing that holds them in place the plastic cover?

If i can figure out how to post pictures. The handle is attached to the base, and sticks up through the slot in the top of the acrylic cover. The handle also acts as a wall, and you stack your chip racks on both sides of the handle/wall(up to 5 on each side). The acrylic/plastic cover then slides down over the top and rest's on the base, with the handle sticking out through the very top. Go to ebay and search poker chip carriers, or clear carriers. Nearly all of them throw in 10 of the chip racks. They hold up to 1000 chips, and somewhere i have seen them that hold up to 600 chips, bu i cn't remember where.
If you have a nice looking set of chips, this is a way to protect, and display them at the same time. Some of the wooden boxes are real nice, but nobody knows what's in the box.

A case that I would NOT reccommend for travel is the oak case from 5stardeal. It was almost falling apart when I received it...Looks nice though!

There are various wood glues that will "wick" into the joints of furniture, go to the hardware store and ask them for it. It's commonly used to fix wooden chairs. (Unless you've done this already

What is the best case to carry around?

I have some inexpensive chips in an aluminum case that is very functional, but the mahogany chip cases on holdempokerchips.com look sweet. The casino style acrylic cases are nice and hold 1000 chips, but I wonder how securely the chips are stored. Would it tip over in the trunk of a car?

Comments?

Here's waht I recommend:

For home, get two of the 750 mahogony cases. They'll hold your 1500 and a few spares (about 30 spares each).

For travel, get the rolling alum case, holds 2000. See it here: http://pokerchipsdepot.com/ Click on "2000" in the cases menu. I bought the thinner one, and I really like it. Leaves you a bit of room to grow, or carry cards and such.
I did a review on this site of the pokerchipsdepot aluminum rolling case w/ double doors (one of their cases that holds 2000 chips). I don't recommend it for traveling. If you get a 2000 chip aluminum case, I'd suggest the one Ten bought (if it is still available). Get the "briefcase" style, as opposed to the double door model. For 1000 chips, though, their double-door model might be OK, since it wouldn't have the same structural weakness as the 2000 chip case. If you buy one of those, do a review, will ya?
I have one of the 1000 double doors comming in a day or 2. Will do a review if yall would like.
