Review of this wood box?

Has anyone had a chip box like this? It holds 500 chips. About $37.00 shipped. I like the simple look. Seems fairly decent quality, but who can tell from pictures.

Re: Review of this wood box?

I have one of these. It's a nice case and it holds a bit more than 500 chips. You'll need to use a chip spacer in the front of each row or the lid won't close. The bottom tray is held in with magnets. It's still brand new to me so I don't know how well the hinges will handle regular use.

Re: Review of this wood box?

Seems like it's not too bad. Might be nice for all the misc & sample chips people tend to have laying around.

doesn't look bad, I'm surprised the top isn't a removable tray though.

Re: Review of this wood box?

I just got one of these today and I think its great. Solid wood and very nice finish. I like the top row stationary and the slide out drawer. It holds 300 chips in the top and 200 in the drawer with a set up of WSOP Cards w/ case and Dlr button and ect in the middle trays. The cards sit on the middle rails between the chips.

It appears very sturdy.

My Argosy Paulson $1(100) and 50c(200) chips along with my Hollywood Parks 25c(200) chips wil be in this case.

I wil try and post some pic's when I finish oiling my Hollywood Parks Chips and have everything in the case.

I would recommend this case. I went to ebay today and there are none posted anywhere, so will try and get with the seller to get another one.

Looks like it is ended.
Anybody see these in a darker stain? Walnut?

Re: Review of this wood box?

I really should have responded to my own thread earlier.

I got the case, I was very satisfied for the price.
It seems like it won't fall apart quickly. The wood feels solid, and it seems pretty well made.

Some bad things, as stated the top rack doesn't come out.
The top lid doesn't stay open (very annoying as you load up the chips.)
No side handles for easy carrying to and from the table.

Re: Review of this wood box?

I cliped the ends off a round tooth pick and place it in the hinge top and bottom to keep the case open. I wish I could post pic's to show it. It acts like a brace and holds it open and looks the same color as the box. I just lay it by the side of the chips when I close the top.

I also agree it is built very welll and is solid wood. The more I mess around with it the better I like it.
