How much will it hold?

I am adding one of the common 750 chip Mahogany cases to my storage options. Can anyone tell me exactly how many casino Paulsons (I'm using it for PNYs) will fit in that?

I can give you a count...

do you plan on using the space for the cards to hold chips too? I used to store my plaques and another 60 chips along the bottom where the cards go.

I count them up in a little bit.

Re: How much will it hold?

Can the card space in the 750 be used for chips? I know it's possible with the 500 case, but from the pictures it didn't look like that could be done with the 750 case. If I can put a rack in the card space, I would definitely do that.

The 750's card spaces are two separate deck-sized slots with finger semi-circles... not like the 500's big open rectangular space. However, I've found you can fit 2 stacks of 20 chips across each card slot, for an additional 80 chips. However, partly due to the finger-holes and some extra room in general, you might want to pad the walls with some thin foam or something so your chips don't rattle around in the card slots too much.

As for the main rows, I find I can comforatbly fit 78 Samurais (BCC's, but very similar in thickness to mint Paulsons) in each one, rather than the designated 75. That's 780 chips in the main chip rows, + 80 in the card slots, for a grand total of 860.

Now, if your casino Paulsons are worn a bit, you might be able to squeeze 80 in each row, for 880 total. I wish I could get that many Samurais to fit...

Unfortunately, you can't see the card slots in any of my pics:

If I decide to remain reasonable, 780 should be perfect for my breakdown. I'm wondering though if I could fit a couple of small coin tubes in a card slot...hmmm.
860 would be absolutely perfect for my ideal breakdown...hmmm. May have to buy more chips...hmmm.

Re: How much will it hold?

jd nailed it @ 860ish.... you could try and squeeze 80 on the bottom rows, but they are a pain to get out if you do.

sounds like a good reason to buy more chips

Re: How much will it hold?

860 would be perfect. It would give me the following breakdown:

$1s - 320
$5s - 240
$20s - 120
$25s - 160
$100s - 15
$500s - 5
