What type of case is best for preserving the condition of your chips?

I've got my first nice set of chips on the way (600 PNYs/100 MGM .25s) and I'm trying to decide on a storage solution. Between aluminum, birdcage/chip racks, oak, and mahogany cases, what style of case creates the least wear and tear on clay chips? I'm not talking about wear from traveling, but wear from repeated loading and unloading the case or carrying them around the house. Or is the answer that wear and tear is insignificant for any of them (especially if you are going to put the chips in use occaisionally)?

Thanks for any input. I know it's a real noob question, but considering what I spent on these chips, I want to treat them the best I can.

Re: What type of case is best for preserving the condition of your chips?

i feel where you're coming from. I spent around $800 for my cash and tourney sets and i wanted to keep them in a nice case.

i went with the 500 mahogany seen here.

Re: What type of case is best for preserving the condition of your chips?

If you aren't worring about transporting them then I don't think the type of case will have a huge impact on the wear on the chips. Putting the chips away after use will definitely be easier on them then having them picked out of pots, splashed into pots, and shuffled. The case in the previous post sure is hard to beat for a display case, looks wise and price wise. My 2 cents

Re: What type of case is best for preserving the condition of your chips?

Ontario Cop's post is right on the money as far as I'm concerned. I purchased two of the mahogany cases in retrovah's post for my prized Condados though just to present them in something equally lovely. Most of mine are in birdcages though.
