wooden poker chip case

Hi, everyone i'm new!

I'm looking for a quality wooden chip case for 500+ ceramic chips. Has anyone got one of these http://www.homepokertourney.com/poke...se-reviews.htm

It's the 750 mahogany one? They look real nice and the review was good but i'm based in the UK and the shipping is gonna cost as much if not more after bloody VAT and import duties so I would like to know from any of you guys whether it's gonna be worth $300+ !!??!!

I've searched and searched online and can't find a UK seller does anyone know any?

Thanks

Re: wooden poker chip case

Yeah I live in the uk too..and all the decent gear including cases and chips are expensive. I've got a wooden 300 chip case picture below & I had to get if from the gamblers general store in Las vegas...it was part of another order so the postal costs didn't hurt so much...it's a nice case made of oak & I've had it for a good 6 years. I don't know if they make then any bigger?? If I come across a uk seller I'll let you know

Re: wooden poker chip case

There has been a review of the mahogany case that you asked about here on CT. I think the 750 and 500 are pretty similar. Quite a few people here own them. Hogwild was running a promo on them - he isn't anymore, but you can at least see a bunch of people's comments on the case (he sold mostly the 500, but also the 750) in his original sponsor thread .

I think the case is not "real" wood, but rather darkly stained pressboard (possibly with a veneer?). Also, it is a very effective display case, but not practical for transporting chips. I think that everyone I have heard of (and there have been a lot of them selling!) likes them, for the price. I don't have one, but have seen it a couple of times at various places.

Depends on what your budget is, but there are some REALLY nice cases at pokerchips.com. You also might consider these ones. Doesn't solve your shipping problems
