Well, this is my first project after I built my table last summer.
I recently started frequenting this site, and have purchased some faux clay chips. Since I sold my dice chips, I had nothing to store them in. I really like this chest but there is no way I'm spending that kind of money or have the shop/tools to build it.

So at my local Wal-Mart I pick up this chest for $34.99.
I then searched high & low to find some chip trays that would fit in the drawers. I finally bought some black plastic table trays ($6.95/ea.) from
www.yourautotrim.com and went to town, cutting and trimming them to fit in the drawer.
I then proceeded to load up my faux clays. Each tray could hold 530 chips but I'm only looking to put 500 in each tray. Once I do a deal for 200 blue chips, then I will have 1500 total (3 full trays). They aren't a perfect fit in the last row, but what could I expect for what I was trying to do. It is kind of heavy, but not so heavy that I couldn't take it to other people's houses. This is what I was trying to accomplish in addition to keeping it pretty much stationary behind my bar with all my poker stuff in one place.
Final product,
(The drawer with white is empty besides them but the drawer with the purple has 200 black chips. Lighting in my office sucks, so the black wouldn't show up against the black of the tray.)
Cost:
Chest/Toolbox: $34.99
Chip Trays: $20.85
Total: $55.84
(Oh yeah, don't make fun of my dealer button/timer. I'm kind of think it's cheesy, but I don't always like dragging my laptop with Tournament Director to everyone's house.)
