Acrylic Poker Chip Case Size?

I'll be ordering 600 chips in the near future and have been looking for a 600 chip acrylic "bird cage" chip case but they are too hard to find. I was wondering if I should just carry the 600 in a 1,000 chip case since they are much easier to find? I could have room to add to the chip set that way although it might look and feel funny until then.

I don't think you're looking hard enough.
Check Discount Casino Gear, PI, and 5stardeal, they all carry the 600pcs cage.

Re: Acrylic Poker Chip Case Size?

I'm in Canada so that usually complicates shipping. Especially from ebay auctions which only ship within the US. Anybody willing to point me in the right direction or post any links?

Re: Acrylic Poker Chip Case Size?

I use my 1000-pc acrylic carriers for 600 chips or so and frankly I like the look and it doesn't feel odd at all. Maybe it looks normal to me because for years I've seen them used in casinos for small fills (as small as a single tray of chips). Also, as you mentioned, you'll have room for expansion. If a less-than-full carrier doesn't bother you, get one. If it will annoy you, watch for the 600-pc carriers.

Thanks for the reply Abby, I have sent off a few emails to websites and distributors and if the price is too high for a 600pc case I can pick up a 1000pc case locally for $40.00 CDN. I'm leaning towards that route now since it would most likely be cheaper.

Here's the link of the 1000pc case I would be buying if I can't find a 600pc case for the right price.

Is this one of the cheaper ones? The site says it is the better out of the two models out there.

This looks like the carrier that I bought from 5stardeal, but it's impossible to tell just by looking at the ad. Ultimately, you can only tell by handling it. You want one that feels solid and secure. I'm very happy with the carriers that I received from Palm Imports, which are not the same as the one you found:

Good luck!

Re: Acrylic Poker Chip Case Size?

I have two of each type and I have never put more than 800 chips in the 1000pc carriers and it works just fine. All of my sets are at least 700 chips and the 600pc carrier requires me to carry an additional 100pc acrylic holder with me for the extra chips. I like them both and haven't had any problems with either.
