Wooden Poker Trays - Woodcraft Magazine March 2007
Woodcraft magazine has instructions on how to build wooden poker trays this month. Best of all, it's a web article, too. http://www.woodcraftmagazine.com/Art...d=341&friend=1
The neatest thing is his use of rare-earth magnets to keep the trays closed.
Of course, the worst thing about the article is the pictures of the dice chips!

At least when my brother sparky was making his wood chip trays, he used real casino chips for the pictures....the Palmas looked great in those mohagany chip racks.

I was just about to post this link... found it over at Scott Keens... This work well if you only have a few hundred chips... Not so well if you have a few thousand... But the principles can be applied.

I saw it too. What I didn't like is that they drill two racks at once. In my opinion, it wastes wood and makes you use thicker stock which costs substantially more. I like to use 1" stock. I plane it down to 7/8" or even 3/4" then use a router for the chip rows. It is easier, fater, and cheaper. Besides, with the drill press, you still have a rough groove that needs too much sanding for it to be usable and presentable.
Four progressive passes at 1/8" with the router and one pass at 1/16" gives a nice clean product.
