My new poker storage

My poker table, chips, chairs, cards, and everything is in my basement. There was this rolling filing cabinet that fit hanging folders just sitting in the basement next to my table.

I was using the top of it as a place to keep chip racks, cards, etc.

It took me a lot longer than it should have, but I finally opened it up. There were old documents of my mom's in there, just old junk paperwork she hasn't used in forever. I cleaned it out, and I think it worked out pretty well.

Right now it has space for at least 2000 chips (there's about 1700 in there, with some room around the edges for more and a couple of empty boxes) and the boxes I use for chip storage now can go another layer on top of that. Plus, there's room for empty racks, decks of cards, and all of the other goodies without having to leave it all sitting out. There's also a lock on the front.

If anyone is looking for an alternative to a casino cart, or somewhere to store a bunch of chips, I think this works pretty well!

Thanks for the compliments!

The key is somewhere. The bigger challenge is actually finding it! I still need to clean the outside of it, but I like how it turned out. This is the reason I switched to the 25x4 cases to hold everything, they're nice and snug to fit 7 of them side to side and have lids.

Re: My new poker storage

That's a great idea! Fits right in with the surroundings, too. Not only does the lock help with theft prevention, but if anyone ever did break into your house, a file cabinet is probably the last place they'd look for poker chips. Great find!
