43mm chip storage - options???

Question:
What alternative do you guys use to store the 43mm chips. I know about the 43mm chip racks, but they don't have a cover for the top. Any other options???

Re: 43mm chip storage - options???

I used a standard 300 or 500 chip metal case that has the molded plastic slots instead of the wooden, square ones. The molded plastic has lower walls and the slots are not as deep as the wood, so this allows the larger chips to touch the bottom and fit in the slots. They almost touch each other edge to edge. It's a snug fit, but works great. I had to remove the thick foam padding in the lid of the case and glue in a thinner piece of foam because the case wouldn't shut with the thicker foam due to the extra tallness of the 43mm chips. With the thinner foam in there, it is a nice snug fit, requiring a little pressure to shut the case the last inch. The foam now presses against the chips when the case is closed and holds them snug. They don't shift or shake inside the case if it is jostled now. When I open the case, you can see light edge indentations in the lid foam, showing it comformed slightly around the chips when closed.

IF you can get someone to sell you some the matsui racks all hold the bigger chips and have covers.

dajebriza - where did you get that case from? I'd like to take a look at one.
