Chips: 628 | | | Pseudo Chip Case Alert! I bought the Task Force Metal Tool Case from Lowes about a year ago. I figured, it's designed to hold tool so it must be robust and must be able to hold a lot of weight........wrong! The plastic handle broke off and the case fell with 600 Paulsons and 6 decks of cards nearly breaking my toes.
On the bright side my toes are still in tact and more importantly the chips are as well.
Any one else had a similar experience. If so please share, I was just trying to determine if this was an isolated case (no pun intended) or an inherent one when carrying that many chips.
I did a search here and found this link http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/poker-...ght=TASK+FORCE
Also, can anyone else recommend an alternative that can hold that many chips and has withstood the test of time? |

I'll be more aware of where my toes when I'm using it now, though .

Tastic's comments reflect my situation exactly. Quote: |

I'm sorry your nice chips hit the deck.
Out of curiosity, how many times a week did you use this case "by the handle" through that year before it broke?600
edit: if 600 paulsons and three setups almost broke your toes, drink more milk!

Well, twice a month for a year certainly isn't very much use. I wonder if you didn't have a defective handle.

Chips: 628 | | | Re: Pseudo Chip Case Alert! Ok, I bought the Pelican 1510. This thing is heavy duty! Now I have to decide how I want to arrange the chips and thus cut the foam accordingly. I noticed other post, displaying this thing can store up to 1500 chips. Different set ups use different types of chip racks, either the plastic box or the standard chip racks. Decisions, decisions...
Question, those who have the Pelican, do you:
1. keep this strictly as a carrier and take out the chips when you get home,
2. Keep you set in there full time and use as a permanent case
3. Keep all to most of your chips there for storage, for protection
