So I Came Across This Box..... Discuss So I Came Across This Box...., on ChipTalk.net the place to go for your Poker chips and gambling tips. Read it in Poker Chip Cases.
I was reading throught the "Whats your cigar of choice?" thread and got to thinking that the chips would fit nicely.
Fits 300 chips perfectly. Now i just need to get some type of separators or racks for the chips to sit in. Thought about ripping the inside of one of the cheapo alum cases and cutting to size. Anyone got any suggestions?

My Idea would be to get a another box or a couple of boxes and take the cedar lining out. Glue the strips into the box chip width apart. Most of the linings will come right out of cigar boxes. It will look good, be functional and it will all match.
if you amde some small triangles to go the width of the box it would be perfect ( O/\O ) unless you don't need the extra row then just make wood strips.
Harry, Is that cigar box going to be able to take all that weight?
Worried you'd be left with road rash on your chips when the back fell out on you........

The box is fairly sturdy. I'd just use the case for home and not as a traveling case.

I may give that a try. I should be able to find those at the local hardware store right?
I bought an unfinished box made of basswood that looks very similar to the cigar box you have. I got it at Michaels Crafts, but I have also seen some like it at other craft stores. I put in thin pine dividers with wood glue and stained the box. It looks great. The company that makes them is called Walnut Hollow. I does come with cheap "hammered in" hinges, so I pulled them out and replaced them with small brass ones from the Home Depot. It holds about 300, but is a bit heavy without a handle. The one thing that ended up being a problem is that I used stain and a danish oil for finish, and anything left in the closed box takes on a bit of the smell of the stain, even though it dried completely before use. You might want to seal it with polyurethane.
