The typical oak 300-500 cases you can see on eBay or various sites can be very sturdy. They have the removable 4x25 racks (usually more like 4x26 actually) with room underneath for cards etc. I have a 300 count case that has taken a lot of abuse and kept on tickin. The wooden case/trays add a lot of weight to the chips, though.
BUT, be sure to look at the hardware before you buy. The handle needs to be bolted through and not just screwed on to the outside with flimsy screws. (Or you can re-attach yourself once you get it.) And make sure the hinges and latches are sturdy.
But the case itself is nearly bomb proof.
Well, maybe that means something different for us back in the USA, not for you and your great Marines on the front lines.
