Chips: 349 | | | How many chips will actually fit in a 650 chip case? I'm talking about the 650 chip cases with 10 rows at 65 chips each. Do you think another 5 chips per row would fit?
Thanks |

Unfortunately, there is really no universal standard as far as individual chip heights or for chip case dimensions. For example, the majority of plastic import chips on the market are very slightly greater in thickness as compared to a Paulson compression molded chip. This is not very noticeable when comparing single chips, but when you multiply it to a stack of 20 or row of 65 you may find a substantial difference.
Although I have not done direct comparisons between the internal dimensions of various chip cases, I would be very surprised to find close agreement among them.

Chips: 18,645 | | | Re: How many chips will actually fit in a 650 chip case? I've got a regular flat 300 case, with 6 rows of 50 chips. But it actually fits 54 Paulson/Chipco chips per row (324 total). So maybe your 65-chip rows will hold 5 extras, if they are standard thickness chips.
I've also got 2 wood cases with removable racks -- they perfectly hold 26 Paulson/Chipco chips in a row made for 25, or 104 per rack (520 total). WIth some of the thicker chips like 13-14g plastic w/inserts, the row only holds 25.
Hard to tell until you get the actual case, unfortunately. |

I have a couple of 300 set cases and I would have no trouble fitting an extra chip into each row. And I have the thicker ABS and NJ/DS chips not the thinner Paulson's. |

I'm looking ahead when later this week I'm getting my chip sample and will be getting either Paulson, TR King or ASM. So I guess I won't order more than 650 but I was just going to order 600 for blocks of 20. That way they fit in the racks and I have an even 60 across 10 ten rows. Maybe I need to do some research on cases. |

Chips: 271 | | | Re: How many chips will actually fit in a 650 chip case? well, I have a 650 count case and it fits EXACTLY 650 chips with absolutely NO possibility of squeezing even 1 more chip into any one row. But the case is crappy, one latch broke off and I plan to replace it with something more sturdy. Anyway, not all 650 cases will fit extra, it will vary quite a bit I think. |

Chips: 111 | | | Re: How many chips will actually fit in a 650 chip case? I thought you just want to fit an extra 5 chips total. I don't think you will be able to fit an extra 5 per row. You might be able to do they are Paulson or the thinner chip. The newer ceramic and the cheap ABS are thicker. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
