The edges and face of NEW chips look like different colors. There is a finish or coating on the TR Kings that prevents the 'dusty' look you get on the side of the chips.
This has made oiling easier since it mainly means oiling the edges.
My method...
I take a very small dip into a small bowl of mineral oil with a finger tip. I then wipe more away on the inside lip leaving a rather minimal coating on my finger. I drag the finger down the stack so all chips get some oil on top, then I rotate the stack a few times to get an even coating on the edge.
I then remove excess oil chip by chip wiping outward past the inlay to the edge. Then each chip gets the edge rubbed for good measure.
The colors pop. The smell is minimal. The amount of oil is minimal.
Result: edge of the chips more resembes the face of the chip.
It took me about 30 minutes to do 100 chips. I was watching a movie... it would have gone faster if the movie were less entertaining (Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels).
