How should I clean my bud jones chips?

Hi,

I'm new to this thing and really don't want to screw it up. A few of my chips are dirty and want them looking nice.

What should I use to clean these?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

easy, basic dish soap and a toothbrush. Can't hardly ruin these chips.

I'm partial to Palmolive with Oxy (dish detergent), which was recommended by other members years ago. A 10-minute soak in warm (not hot) water and a light scrubbing with a toothbrush should do the trick.

Oops, forgot the cool-water rinse and towel dry steps. Allow chips to dry thoroughly before putting them away.

Re: How should I clean my bud jones chips?

Try acetic acid with an acetone rinse. Make sure you soak them at least an hour in each solution before towel drying. Hand, eye, and breathing protection optional, but highly recommended.

Okay, j/k - either of those will likely melt the chips and cause mass confusion and mass chip fusion. Don't do it.

However, either process suggested above by abby and noels works fine, or 10-15 minutes in a warm Oxy-Clean solution followed by cold water rinse if the chips are really gunky (probably not, with just home use). Slight buff with a damp Magic Eraser if needed to remove any surface scuff marks. Viola!

I wouldn't worry about it as they are on eBay, just wasted time on your part.

Wow. Thanks guys. Will try the Palmolive and toothbrush. I couple of them are sticky. Probably old beer spills.
